- You must have a valid Vermont driver’s license and be at least 18 years old in order to be issued a commercial driver’s instruction permit.
- You are eligible for commercial drivers license at age 18, but are limited to operating a commercial vehicle only within the state of Vermont. This includes the transportation of hazardous materials.
- If you plan to transport hazardous materials or any other cargo across state lines, you must be 21 years old.
- According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, you must have a physical exam every two years.
